Meta built a frontier model in 9 months. I have 24 hours.
Meta Superintelligence Labs just shipped their first model. Muse Spark, built from scratch in nine months under Alexandr Wang, landed 4th on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index. It runs on 10x less compute than anything at its level and Meta is giving it away free across every Meta surface. Open-source version coming. Meanwhile Claude Code's leaked source revealed that its deny rules break after 50 subcommands in automated workflows, Anthropic launched Claude Managed Agents as a full deployment product, and North Korean hackers pushed 1,700 malicious packages into npm, PyPI, Go, Rust, and PHP in a single campaign. Yesterday I had to cut the stream at one hour. That is not how this works. Today is the make-up session. More features delivered in one stream than any session before it. The last full session ran 368 events across 18 agent sessions. Desktop got its auth flow fixed but then broke again when moving tabs between windows. The terminal sprint is active with arrow keys, positioning, and color matching all under investigation. Git pack replaced the pane entirely. The quick app got redesigned as a floating composer. Mobile still can't find the desktop. Every surface had something break and something move forward. Today the plan is simple. Stay in the room. Ship features. The product has five surfaces that all need to clear the bar. Desktop needs its prod build stable and its auth solid across multiple windows. The terminal needs to feel like Warp, not like a science experiment. Mobile needs to connect. The quick app needs to be useful. And backyard needs to support what the desktop is trying to do. That is the tension. Frontier AI keeps getting cheaper and faster. Meta built a competitive model in nine months with a fraction of the compute. The tools available to builders get better every week. If you're building something, the only thing that matters is whether you use the time. Yesterday I didn't. Today I will. This is an 8-10 hour live building session. AI radio in the background. Co-working friendly. If you're trying to figure out how to push a product forward on every front at once with AI agents, this is the room. sources (today's news, April 9): https://awesomeagents.ai/news/meta-muse-spark-frontier-debut/ https://www.kursol.io/blog/ai-breaking-news-2026-04-09-meta-muse-spark https://securitybrief.asia/story/claude-code-flaw-leaves-deny-rules-vulnerable-in-long-workflows https://www.wired.com/story/anthropic-launches-claude-managed-agents/ https://www.itsecuritynews.info/n-korean-hackers-spread-1700-malicious-packages-across-npm-pypi-go-rust/ https://www.c-sharpcorner.com/news/microsoft-brings-model-context-protocol-mcp-apps-to-copilot-chat
